A: When your present web hosting provider can no longer satisfy the needs of your website, or when you suffer from constant downtime, or if you are forced to wait for hours for the support team to reply back to you, it may be a clever idea to swap your web hosting provider, i.e. to transfer all the files for your sites as well as your databases from your current provider to your future provider. At Host My Site, we realize that this can be difficult & time–consuming. For this reason, we will perform all that for you for free!Our qualified technical team will migrate your site content from your present provider to us. Our techs have extensive experience with web site migration and are able to take care of everything – from a typical WordPress–based weblog or Joomla^™–driven web site, to a very complex, custom–made web app.

A: While we can’t give you an exact time frame, since there are lots of factors, including the size of the web files and databases, the physical location of the present host’s server, the complexity of your web site and the present workload of our Website Migration Department, etc., we’ll try our best to migrate your site within 48 hours, and in certain cases – within 24 hours (in case the website content is not very large).

A: Yeah. We will require the name of the site that you’d like us to transfer. We’ll also need a way to log in to your current web hosting account so that we can get the files pertaining to your website.

A: In order for us to start the transfer of your web hosting account, you must first open an account with us. Opening an account with us requires that you to disclose essentially the same information you have given to your old web host. We’ve also got an extremely strict Privacy Policy, which specifies how sensitive info is handled.

A: Your web site will continue to work just like it did before with your previous web hosting provider. After we are done with the migration, your site will be configured to work on our web hosting platform and we’ll alert you to preview it. If it is working properly, all you will need to do is change the NS records associated with your domain. Your web site will be transferred to us with no downtime whatsoever.

A: No. We will never contact your hosting provider about anything. They won’t be aware of the website migration either.

A: Yes. We support all standard Linux–powered hosting platforms. We don’t support Windows–driven web hosting platforms, as we do not provide Windows hosting services ourselves.In addition, we don’t support proprietary website creation and administration interfaces such as Wix, BaseKit, Jimdo, Website Tonight, Four Square, Mr Site, etc.
